Summary

Raid: Shadow Legendsis set in a deep, dark dystopian universewhereby players build their Champion army as efficiently and effectively as possible. As long as players fully understand the lore behind the four different Affinities, the sky’s the limit with what they can achieve and explore in the game.

Raid: Shadow Legendsis the ultimate turn-based game steeped in fantasy. The length and breadth of adventure, especially considering it’s a mobile game, does take some beating. However, there is a selection of mobile games that, whilst they do not emulateRSL, do share similar engaging qualities.

Set in a disastrous, dystopian world,Age of Magicsends all manner of monsters the player’s way. Even though the visuals ofRaid: Shadow Legendsare hard to beat, this game is certainly a strong contender. InAge of Magic, players immerse themselves in a cross-over world hidden somewhere between magic and all-out war.

Firmly based in the fantasy realm, this game is a long-term play, with slow yet highly rewarding progression.Age of Magichas both a campaign for players to battle steadily against and the opportunity to fight other players and their teams as often as they desire.

6Waven

An Oceanic Odyssey

Waven’s eye-catching graphics dripping in color and contrast are a treat for the player from the very beginning of the game. Twelve, the worldWavenis set, has been entirely flooded, with only a selection of smaller islands being the sole survivors. The magnificent odyssey players embark upon takes them between factions and territories, tiny islets, and larger nations. The captain is the hero; the player.

To avoid beginner traps (of which there are far fewer than inRaid: Shadow Legends), players must verify to save valuable spell upgrades for when they become more established as a hero.

5Dislyte

Defend The Cityscape

A role-playing game set in the near future,Dislytefocuses upon the Seeker (the player) and their quest to defend the cityscape and the country of Grandis as a whole. Switch on story mode, for at least the first playthrough, and Seekers will level-up more effectively and gain valuable experience in the process. Even though there is not a comprehensive in-game map of the world,in the case ofDislytethis is actually a good thing. This way, players can create their own theories as to why, for instance, the provinces of Greywater and Tangton are entirely outside of mainland rule.

LikeRaid: Shadow Legends,Dislyteis firmly a gatcha game, but the general consensus among regular players is that the latter is far more giving when it comes to upgrading and beating daily log-in records.

4Dragonheir: Silent Gods

Assemble Your Men

Dragonheir: Silent Gods' artwork alone is seriously something to impress a player and certainly competes withRaid: Shadow Legends. The tutorial, The Child of Chaos, is a seriously impressive boss fight which, wait for it, comes at the end of the tutorial, before gameplay starts.

Even the campaign, a feature of most games in this genre, is different from the norm.Dragonheir: Silent Godsshowcases a huge range of challenges for each campaign of the day and there are arange of codes readily available. Another outstanding feature of the game is that side quests and challenges are hidden inside the game, rather than all available to play at the start.

3Summoners War: Sky Arena

A Monster’s Fantasy

Summoners War: Sky Arenatakes place in a monster-filled futuristic fantasy world. A small group of humans inhabit the planet along with the monsters and call themselves the Summoners.

Unlike many other mobile games in the monster genre,Summoners War: Sky Arenahas theSummoners control the monstersand battle them against each other. Many in the gaming community assume thatRaids: Shadow Legendswas the main inspiration for the game, without emulating the former’s mercy system. It’s also worth highlighting that the graphics inSummoners War: Sky Arenafall slightly short ofRaid: Shadow Legends.

Marvel Strike Forcebrings together the most powerful characters from across the Marvel universe to battle and, ultimately, defeat Boundless. The beauty of the game lies in the fact that the player can mix it up between thelegendary heroes of the franchiseand conversely, the most infamous villains.

Among the gaming community, there is often a great deal of speculation as to which is better,Marvel: Strike ForceorRaid: Shadow Legends. The former has more expanded character histories and far more training modules, but the latter does have more impressive combat graphics.

As long as potential players are not members of the ever-decreasing group who ‘have never seenStar Wars’, thenStar Wars: Galaxy of Heroesis definitely for them. The pool of potential characters available to collect from ranges across the franchise. Said pool includes the original trilogy, the sequel trilogy,The Mandalorian, andStar Wars: The Clone Warsto name just a few.

LikeRaid: Shadow Legends, team building lies at the heart of the game, and the more strategic planning and logical placement players invest in, the better the results. Although they areboth firm gatcha games, it has to be said thatStar Wars: Galaxy of Heroeshas more regularly updated content and more opportunities to upgrade for free.
