Sucker Punch Has Yet to Confirm if Ghost of Yotei Will Introduce a New Legends Mode

The Argument For a Fresh Legends Mode

One of the biggestarguments in favor ofGhost of Yoteifeaturing its own multiplayer option is that it was a big hit amongGhost of Tsushima’s player base. It may not have reached the same heights as the game’s main story, but many players enjoyed the mode and still continue to play. Also, the fact that it was a free add-on made the experience even more rewarding for a lot of gamers.Ghost of Yoteichoosing to feature its own version ofLegendscould offer improvements to bring fans an even greater multiplayer experience.

There is also the issue of a brand-new timeline to consider. Being set300 years afterGhost of Tsushima, the current version ofLegendswill be outdated in terms of setting and weapons. A co-op mode included withGhost of Yoteicould bring players a lot of fun weapon options to utilize in a multiplayer experience that wouldn’t exactly make sense for the originalLegends.

The Argument Against a New Legends Mode

A glaring issue for such a modeattached toGhost of Yoteiis that it could potentially mark the end of the originalLegends. If not the end, it would likely cause the player count to dwindle, at the very least.Ghost of Tsushima’s co-op mode may not be able to offer the more advanced weapons of its successor, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case.

Instead of a completely separate co-op mode inGhost of Yotei, updating the current iteration ofLegendsmay offer the best of both worlds. To avoid splitting the player count in half, updating the currentLegendswith a game mode that showcasesGhost of Yotei’s setting and weapons may be the better option. However, this is likely a lot easier said than done.

Legends is Stuck at a Crossroads

Ultimately, it’s difficult to say which route would be better forLegends. On the one hand, a brand-new take included in the base version ofGhost of Yoteiwould be thrilling, but on the other hand, it risks taking attention away from the original co-op game. Despite this difficult choice, there are likely to be players who preferGhost of Tsushima’s era, leading them to stick with the original over a new interpretation.
