TheTerminatorfranchise has been a staple of the action blockbuster world for just over four decades. 1985’sThe Terminatorwas met with mixed reviews at the time of its release, but it’s since become heralded as an all-time Sci-Fi great, and its 1991 sequel,Terminator 2: Judgment Day, is still widely considered to be one of the greatest action movies ever made. Arguably, there hasn’t been a genuinely greatTerminatormovie sinceT2, but the franchise has remained in the public conscious thanks in no small part to its references and cameos in other media.

Along with a plethora ofTerminatorgames over the years – liketheTerminator 2arcade gameand the much more recentTerminator: Resistance– the franchise has seen its fair share of cameo appearances in other video game series, with some of its most memorable being skins inGears of War 5andFortnite. These cameos help to keepTerminatorin the mainstream spotlight, and it’s just been thrust there once again thanks toCall of DutyandMortal Kombat.

With the introduction ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6Season 2,The Terminatormakes its return to the military shooter franchise. Terminator 2’s T-1000 Is Coming to Mortal Kombat 1

Mortal Kombat 1is coming to the end of its currently-announced DLC plans, withTerminator 2’s T-1000being the final fighter confirmed to appear. While there’s no confirmed release date forMK1’s T-1000 DLC fighter, it seems likely that he’ll arrive sometime in March, as Conan the Barbarian has just come to the game two months after Ghostface, which suggests that T-1000’s release is around two months away.

Robert Patrick will be reprising his role of the T-1000 inMortal Kombat 1.

But much likeCall of Duty, this isn’t the first time theMortal Kombatseries has crossed over withTerminator. The T-800 was the third DLC character to come toMortal Kombat 11back in October 2019. ThoughMK11’s T-800 had Arnold Schwarzenegger’s likeness (specifically based on his appearance in2019’sTerminator: Dark Fate), he didn’t return to voice the fighter, instead leaving that up to actor Chris Cox.
