Players will still have to wait until March 6 for the bigWilds of the Talandre expansion inThrone and Liberty, which will add a new zone, bosses, events, and an overhaul of the weapon mastery system. However, a new, smaller update was added to the game overnight between February 5-6. The majority of the changes made through this update center on fixes to bugs and other programming mistakes, but the highlight of the patch notes, at least for a certain fraction of the player base, is that players on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles will now be able to swap out their controllers for a combination of mouse and keyboard peripherals, giving them a similar experience to playingThrone and Libertyon PC. Following a maintenance downtime period of nearly 12 hours, the game is now back online and the patch is live.

The new update should help level the playing field between platforms, ascrossplay inThrone and Libertyis always on. While some players may feel more comfortable with a controller in their hands, others would argue that the precision of using a mouse coupled with the broader range of keys on a keyboard as opposed to buttons on a controller makes the former the superior choice for playing MMORPGs likeThrone and Liberty.

Another important change in the patch notes regards non-rankedPvP matches inThrone and Liberty. An erroneous bit of coding had been capping players' stats in non-ranked Arena matches, but the newly added update resolves this issue. There is also a change that should affect the game’s economy, as the patch fixes an error that was causing vendors to charge a 40 percent tax instead of the intended 20 percent.
