Unfortunately, theTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsseries may not be following.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Could Be A Fantastic Subseries

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Shook Up the Formula Fantastically

Since 2009’sBorderlands, there has been no escaping Gearbox Software’s wild sci-fi universe. Not only have there been three more titles since, but there have also been mobile spin-offs and new adventures from Telltale Games. Through this, the studio has built a unique sci-fi universe filled with extremely memorable characters, wild stories, and one of the most iconic antagonists in gaming. While the franchise delivered consistent quality looter shooters, Gearbox felt it was time for something different. The studio did just that withTiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

Serving as a sequel toBorderlands 2: Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandswas unlike anything the franchise had seen up until that point. The world was fantasy-themed rather than sci-fi, players controlled a custom-made character, and the entire adventure resembled a tabletop RPG. Consequently, players were constantly accompanied by Tiny Tina as she assumed the role of DM, serving as a persistent companion throughout the tale. This unique approach may not have made waves among Borderlands fans, but it offered something many players won’t forget.

There Is Still So Much Gearbox Could Do With Wonderlands

Since its release, there hasn’t been much news onthe future ofTiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The DLC proved controversial with the fanbase, and as of now, it looks like Gearbox is focused on releasingBorderlands 4. After it hits store shelves, there will likely be many DLC packs as the studio develops its next adventure. While some may hope that it isTiny Tina’s Wonderlands 2, that may no longer be the case.

There are conflicting reports on whether or not the sequel has been canceled. The best-case scenario is that it’s being actively developed and players will get their hands on the sequel in a few years.Blending fantasy withBorderlandsmade for an exciting experience, and Gearbox has barely scratched the surface of what it could do with the idea. There could be many new classes, new adventures to embark on, moreDungeons and Dragons-like mechanics to adapt, and many fantasy concepts waiting to be explored.

It remains to be seen ifTiny Tina’s Wonderlandshas come and gone or if the studio has one more adventure up its sleeve. If anything, theBorderlandsfranchiselikely won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. While that will likely lead to some fun sci-fi adventures,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandswill hopefully not be the only looter shooter Gearbox takes a risk with.
