There could be a perfect opportunity to connectHaunted ChocolatierwithStardew Valleyin the form of two NPCs from the latter title. From early information, it’s already clear thatHaunted Chocolatierwill differ from its predecessor in many ways. However, by no means does it have to be completely separate fromStardew Valley, particularly if the two games end up sharing the same universe. There are a few ways thatHaunted Chocolatiercould establish a clear connection between the two. One of the best possibilities could involve a couple of underused NPCs that players previously met in Pelican Town.
While the connections betweenHaunted ChocolatierandStardew Valleyhave not been established yet, if they exist at all, the games do at least have a fair amount of similarities. In addition to both being creations by ConcernedApe, each game looks to have a balance of work, social interaction, and adventure. Granted, the two games still have plenty of things separating them (ConcernedApe admitted as much during an interview), but even so, there will likely be a lot of transferable skills between the two games. Avid players ofStardew Valleywill likely end up having little difficulty learning the basics ofHaunted Chocolatierat release.

Vincent and Jas Could Be Two Unlikely Candidates to Join Haunted Chocolatier’s New Town
Haunted Chocolatier’s Cast Has to Live Up to Stardew Valley’s
It’s hard to overstate theimportance ofHaunted Chocolatier’s NPCs. One of the main things that madeStardew Valleysuch a beloved game is its interesting and likable cast of characters. The initial trailer showed a few characters who seem like they will be intriguing in their own right. At the same time, one potential way to spur some extra interest would be for an NPC fromStardew Valleyto show up. There are several characters who could have a reason to show up. However, two characters offer a unique opportunity to bridge a path between the two games on the timeline.
Vincent and Jas Could Greatly Expand Their Roles in Haunted Chocolatier
Vincent and Jas have a surprisingly good argument to joinHaunted Chocolatier’s new setting. InStardew Valley, they were two of the least consequential NPCs in the game. They had little interaction with the farmer, only having one heart event that both of them shared, and it revealed little about either of their personalities. This could be justified by them being kids at the time thatStardew Valleytakes place. If their older selves appeared inHaunted Chocolatier, they could have a chance to be more interesting than in their first appearances. They may even be able to add something unique toHaunted Chocolatier’s cast.
Stardew Valleyhad a third child character in Leo, but he had a much more realized character arc.

Haunted Chocolatier Could Confirm a TImeskip With Vincent and Jas
Adding Vincent and Jas would not only confirm thatHaunted ChocolatierandStardew Valleyshare a world, but them being older would also confirm a timeskip. This would have the advantage of letting characters see what happened to Vincent and Jas when they got older. However, since this would likely call for a timeskip of at least ten years, it would likely restrict what otherStardew Valleycharacters would appear. At the same time, Vincent and Jas may be the best options, because their minor role inStardew Valleywould mean that their stories likely wouldn’t contradict any player relationships from that game.
While they weren’tStardew Valley’s most dynamic characters, it might be good to see Vincent and Jas inHaunted Chocolatier. Regardless of anychanges thatHaunted Chocolatiermakes, a few familiar faces would be a welcome sight. A return appearance from those two could provide some notable character development, while also providing a hint of nostalgia. The game’s cast is going to need to reach the high bar thatStardew Valleyset. Vincent and Jas could provide an unlikely assist to helpHaunted Chocolatierlive up to expectations.
