Summary

After wondering how Goth Wednesday Addam is doing after the wild events of last season, there is finallya fun new teaserforNetflix’sWednesdayseason 2, and I love that it includesTyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan), who is the Hyde Monster. As Wednesday stares darkly at Tyler, he looks as intense and dangerous as he did when hetransformed into the creature terrorizing the grounds of Nevermore Academy and the surrounding small town of Jericho.

AlthoughWednesdayseason 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, fans know it’s coming in 2025, and I’m particularly intrigued by the chance to see Tyler again. After watching the teaser,I’m thinking about what could be next for Tyler and Wednesday’s relationship.

I Think Tyler And Wednesday Should Work Together In Wednesday Season 2

In the teaser that was recently released,Wednesday Addams sees Tyler Galpin at a psychiatric hospital called Willow Hill.PerhapsWednesdayseason 2 could take inspiration fromthe iconic horror movieThe Silence of the LambsandWednesday could visit Tyler to get information on finding her stalker and solving other mysteries at Nevermore Academy.

While Tyler isn’t nearly as dangerous asfamous horror villain and cannibal Hannibal Lecter, he does have the same mysterious and untrustworthy vibe. I think it would be fascinating to seeWednesday and Tyler working out a new dynamic inWednesdayseason 2.I didn’t like when they dated in season 1 for two reasons: because I don’t think a love story works for Goth Wednesday Addams and because I think it’s more interesting if Wednesday and Tyler are just friends. If Wednesday continues to visit Tyler at Willow Hill, then they can talk aboutWednesday’s season 2 stalker, and they can figure out how to be friends now thatshe knows his deepest secret.

Tyler and Wednesday talking in Wednesday

I’m also curiousif Wednesday will help Tyler escape from Willow Hillor at least help him prove his innocence. While it’s true that Tyler hurt people as the Hyde, he’s not a full-on killer. Since Wednesday has darkness inside of her, she can recognize that others are complicated, too. I could see Wednesday talking toTyler’s dad Sheriff Donovan Galpin (Jamie McShane)and Sheriff Galpin deciding that Tyler needs to go back home and work on himself.

It’s fun to see Wednesday making new friends at herboarding school Nevermore Academy, like the charming and sweet Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers). I also want to see more of Wednesday and Tyler’s dynamic because I think they relate to each other. They’re both misfits who feel misunderstood by the rest of the world. But while they’re friends, their relationship has changed since Wednesday knows the truth about Tyler. Given this massive piece of information,I wonder if Wednesday and Tyler could play a terrifying and mysterious cat-and-mouse-gamefor much ofWednesdayseason 2. Wednesday might even wonder if Tyler himself is stalking her, which would be interesting.

What Did Hunter Doohan Say About Wednesday?

In an interview withPop Culturalist,Hunter Doohan talked about getting to know Tyler Galpinand, specifically, Tyler’s family situation. Doohan said he could relate to the character’s pain and loss:

“I felt like I had a good understanding of where Tyler started out, even before we meet him because he lost his mom at a young age. I lost my dad five years ago. I understood the pain to bring to that underbelly.”

WhileWednesdayseason 2 will have more Addams Family members, it also needs to dive deeper into how Wednesday and Tyler are getting along now that she knows his big secret. In the same interview, Doohan alsoaddressed the close relationship Tyler and Wednesday share inWednesdayseason 1. He said:

“She slowly begins to trust him. He finds moments when he’s charmed by her darkness and oddness as opposed to being turned off as everyone else is.”

Fromthe sneak peek ofWednesdayseason 2and the recent teaser featuring Tyler, it looks likethe next part of Wednesday Addams’s story will be as gripping and excellent as the first eight episodes.
