Apex Legends' next season will introduce a great deal of change to the game that will completely upend its meta. Massive changes to damage and shields, buffs to the Legends that need them the most, new Arsenal stations, the implementation of Road to Ranked, and more will makeApex LegendsSeason 24 one to remember.
The next season ofApex Legends, entitled Takeover, won’t be coming with a new Legend or map, but that doesn’t mean fans shouldn’t be excited. This upcoming update will add a smorgasbord of quality-of-life changes drastically altering the meta ofApex Legends—making fights faster and deadlier. For additional info on Season 24, Game Rant also sat down with a group of the game’s developers who were able to elaborate on some of these changes.

The Biggest Changes Coming To Apex Legends In Season 24
Ash and Ballistic Buffs, New Assault Perks, Support Nerfs
As part ofApex Legends’continued class changes, Season 24 will see major changes to the Assault class. Thanks to these perks, each member of the Assault class will gain dedicated inventory slots for extra grenades along with improved weapon handling. In addition, each of these Legends will gain the ‘Battle Surge’ perk, granting them temporary boosts (gaining a speed boost, faster reloads, and a highlight of the enemy’s location) after cracking a shield.
Two members of the Assault class will receive even more buffs, those being Ash and Ballistic. Having longfallen behind inApex Legends' pick-rates, Season 24 will finally give them a new lease on life. Ash will lose the ability to scan Death Boxes but will gain multiple improvements to her Tactical and Ultimate and a new Passive—an omnidirectional dash. Ballistic will now get his Sling and dual Tactical charge upgrades in his base kit and can now choose to upgrade to four Tactical charges. He’ll also gain a new team speed bonus on his Ultimate, and his sling will carry crate weapons.

These changes will focus entirely on the Assault class, meaning some other underserved Legends won’t get a buff. Lead Legend designer Devan McGuire confirmed that Seer—who also sits at the bottom ofApex’s pick rate—will not be buffed this season, but said “We’re definitely looking at him because he’s definitely sitting way below where we’d like him to be sitting.” In addition to an Assault focus,Apex’s Support Legends will be reined in, losing their Heal Expert perk.
Faster Fights With Arsenals and Time-To-Kill Overhaul
Arsenals are a new feature inApex Legends' next season. This new type of station will spawn across the map and allow players that use them to choose a weapon and gain it in addition to a selection of ammunition. These stations will help players get into a fight faster, but technical gameplay designer JJ Odell confirmed that these stations have been balanced with existing floor loot.
“The first is the amount of ammo that you’re able to actually find at the Arsenals. It starts out pretty low, so it’s like, “Hey, I can choose to go to an Arsenal, get my weapon, but I’m not going to get that much ammo.” […] Then a second one is the positioning of the Arsenals; we did our best to place them not right next to other pieces of loot and not in good places of cover.”
TheApex Legendsmetawill also be completely shifted. Helmets are gone, with headshot multipliers for each weapon being reworked. Every weapon is being buffed, and Evo Shield will now cap out at Purple (though Mythic Shield can still be accessed via an incredibly rare Mythic Helmet). To balance this, small heals now stack to 6 and can be consumed faster. These changes will makeApexa far faster and far more deadly game.
