2024 has been a huge year for theDisney LorcanaTCG, which saw the release of four expansions for the game, including Into The Inklands in February and March, Ursula’s Return in May, Shimmering Skies in August, and Azurite Sea in November. 2025 is seemingly breaking this pattern with slower and fewer releases, though not much is set in stone just yet, andDisney Lorcanafans will have to wait and see if anything else is announced and what exactly it entails.
Still, the game is in a great spot at the moment, and its first competitive year is in full swing, with the North American Championship still going on today. MoreDisney Lorcanaproductswill be released over 2025, and the first two sets of the year have already been announced alongside some additional items, making this year and the foreseeable future of the TCG look quite bright.
Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island - March 2025
Archazia’s Island is the firstnew set of 2025 forDisney Lorcana, and it’s currently scheduled for March of this year, though no exact release date has been shared so far. Since Archazia is not an actual Disney character from the movies, it’s unclear who they are and why their island shares the name with this set. However, what is currently known is that the expansion will feature characters fromBolt, including the titular superhero dog.
The expansion’s banner also reads “Learn new tricks!,” which supposedly meansnew card types or mechanics forDisney Lorcanaare being added. Additionally, the set will heavily feature pets from Disney movies and franchises, but it’s unclear how this may affect the gameplay.
It’s worth noting that Shimmering Skies and Azurite Sea built on the existing collection of cards without adding new mechanics or card types, unlike every other set. As such, it seems very likely that Archazia’s Island will add something new for players to toy with.
Disney Lorcana: Reign of Jafar - Q2 2025
The underlying story ofDisney Lorcanawill see the culmination of Jafar becoming the new big bad of the TCG. TheAladdinvillain Jafaris seen wearing an artifact called Hexwell Crown, which he presumably put back together to acquire its powers. One card has already been revealed for Reign of Jafar, and it’s Iago - Out of Reach, a 3-cost, Inkable, Steel character with 3 Strength and 3 Willpower who quests for 2 Lore and cannot be challenged while players have an exerted character.
It’s also possible that Reign of Jafar will feature an unannounced product that draws inspiration from the Illumineer’s Quest set for the Ursula-themed expansion, called Deep Trouble. This is essentially a standalone co-op game featuringDisney Lorcanadecksthat have to be played against Ursula. Since Reign of Jafar paints the titular villain as the next big adversary in the story, it makes sense to see something like Deep Trouble for the expansion where multiple players can take him on.
Every Disney Lorcana Product Revealed For March 2025 So Far
While not much has been revealed for the product lineup in 2025,Disney Lorcanahas revealed that there will be a special Lilo and Stitch-themed gift box, new deck boxes and sleeves, and also new playmats. The gift box contains five random booster packs and a special edition of Azurite Sea’s Lilo - Escape Artist, as well as a storage box and some separators. The deck boxes and sleeves share the same art as the Enchanted version of Cinderella - Ballroom Sensation and Ursula - Deceiver of All, whereas the playmats have the same art asAzurite Sea’s Tigger - In the Crow’s Nest and We Could Be Immortals.
More Expansions and Products for Disney Lorcana in 2025
Since Archazia’s Island is coming in March and Reign of Jafar is set to be released in Q2 of 2025, it’s plausible that there will be a third and final expansion forDisney Lorcanatoward the end of the year, most likely between October and December. It’s also very likely that more products themed around Archazia’s Island and Reign of Jafar will be revealed as the year progresses. Overall, 2025 seems like a great year for the Disney TCG so far.
