There’s a wide variety of weapons inHyper Light Breaker, and no build is complete without a decent one. Everyone start with basic loadouts, but as you play the game, you’ll have the opportunity to find equipment that better suit the playstyles you have in mind.
This gamehas elements of both roguelikes andthe many extraction games on the market. With that said, things work a little differently here. Here’s what you need to know about how to get new weapons inHyper Light Breaker.

Where to Get New Weapons in Hyper Light Breaker
The first way to get new gear is toexplore Overgrowths— you’ll naturally get new stuff while exploring the world during a run, but if you’re looking for weapons, head straight for either thesword or pistol iconson the map. These represent Blades and Rails respectively.
Blades are melee weapons, and they come with different movesets and special abilities. Meanwhile, Rails are ranged weapons, and they have varying functions that make each of them stand out from each other. Both can come in different rarities, with gold being the rarest. As is tradition inloot-based games like this, the rarer the item, the better its stats.

You can send any weapon you find in the Overgrowth straight to your personal stash by pressing the Cache button instead of Equip. You can them equip them for your next run by modifying your loadout before leaving.
How to Get New Starting Weapons
Apart from getting and using new Breakers, you can get new starting gear bypurchasing them from the merchantsback at the Cursed Outpost. At first, only the Blades merchant will be available. To get the merchant that sells Rails, you’ll need to find enough materials to repair their shop.
Merchants have a limited stock of items for sale. However, their shops refresh after some time. If they don’t have anything you fancy at first, make sure to check again later and see what’s on the menu.

How to Upgrade Weapons
You can make your gear better by upgrading them at the merchants in the Outpost. However, you’ll first need to unlock the Upgrade feature itself byraising your affinity with the merchants. To do this, you need to get Golden Rations, a type of resource that you can find either via exploring the world or resetting cycles. Golden Rations are fairly hard to come by, so make sure to spend them wisely.
If you die, all gear you have equipped will lose one pip’s worth of durability, represented by the bar under their icons. They will eventually break if you die enough times.
