The anime is set to debut in April 2025 (the exact date is yet to be announced), andboth Netflix and Crunchyroll have just confirmed that they will stream itas the episodes air in Japan.

But for fans in the US, there’s even more good news! GKIDS has just announced it has theatrical rights to the first three episodes!

Witch Watch Release Date In The US

The episodeswill be released in North American theaters on March 16! Likely, people in the US and in Canada will be able to watch them. According to GKIDS, the screenings will include exclusive interviews (but that’s all there is to it for now).

What Is Witch Watch About?

Witch Watchhas been running inShonen Jumpsince 2021. It is a romantic comedy, one of the reasons it’s fair to compare it to Dandadan.

The story is set in a magical world. Nico Wakatsuki is a teenage witch who is now living with her childhood friend, Morihito Otogi (who is an ogre, despite looking quite human). Otogi is supposed to become her familiar, and protect her because of their lineage. As Nico has always had a crush on him, she hopes this will help their relationship to develop in a romantic way!

Studio Bibury (Magical Destroyers) is handling the series' animation. The main staff includesDeko Akao(Noragami Aragoto, Komi Can’t Communicate) as the head writer, andHiroshi Ikehata(TONIKAWA, 365 Days to the Wedding) as the director.
