Now,World of Warcrafthas provided some clarity as to the drop rates for loot from the Crown Chemical Co., including both old and new items. In a post on the Blizzard forums,WoWcommunity manager Kaivax confirmed that legacy drops, such as thecoveted X-45 Heartbreaker mount inWorld of Warcraft, have a significantly higher drop rate from the first attempt, but with a very low chance on subsequent characters for people who wish to farm it. On the contrary, new items, like the Love Witch’s Sweeper, can only drop on the first attempt per account, with that chance increasing on each subsequent day.
While this technically only applies to Love is in the Air this year, Kaivax’s clarification seems to matchhowWorld of Warcrafthas done holiday drops recently. Fans can assume other events, including future runs of Love is in the Air, will run on a similar metric.
Needless to say, these new drop rates appear to be working. Many players have already received the Love Witch’s Sweeper mount over the first few days of the event, and some especially lucky ones looted both the Love Witch’s Sweeper and the X-45 Heartbreaker at the same time. Love is in the Air runs until February 17, so fans who need either of these mounts should be sure to beat the Crown Chemical Co. at least once a day until then.
