World of Warcraftrecently shared an official preview of the D.R.I.V.E. system coming in Patch 11.1, including how the new G-99 Breakneck vehicle works and is obtained, as well as some of the activities and upgrades available for it. Patch 11.1, aptly named Undermined, takes place in the subterranean Goblin city of Undermine. The update introduces tons of features to the game, but one of the mostexciting additions in theWorld of Warcraftpatch is the D.R.I.V.E. system– standing for Dynamic and Revolutionary Improvements to Vehicular Experiences – which is a customizable, reactive ground vehicle that can only be used in the new zone.
Now, Blizzard has given players a closer look athow the D.R.I.V.E. system will work inWorld of Warcraft, including how one can get a G-99 Breakneck of their own. After completing a few of the campaign quests in Undermine, Gas Grimeshank sends characters to Nanny Talullah, who starts them on the quest “License Not Required,” rewarding them with the basic car. Completing this D.R.I.V.E. tutorial quest unlocks access to the Boost function, as well as the fully customizable vehicle for all characters on the account.

The G-99 Breakneck is controlled similarly to other mounts, albeit with a few major differences. Rather than jumping, the Spacebar on keyboard inputs is used to drift the vehicle, allowing it to take tight turns, slide past enemies, and charge up the Turbo Gauge, which is used with Boost to reach speeds even faster than Skyriding. Luckily, the G-99 Breakneck is indestructible, so crashing into obstacles does not dismount or damage the rider or the vehicle.
This new vehicle has several customization options fans can pick from. While some of these things are cosmetic, such as the color of the ride or the sound of its horn, other parts change its characteristics: the Engine affects top speed and acceleration, Wheels control grip while drifting, and Turbo influences the cost and strength of Boost. Players will find these different parts from rares and treasures in Undermine, as well as from certain vendors, like fromWorld of Warcraft’s new Cartels of Undermine Renown faction.
Of course, there are some new activities specific to the G-99 Breakneck. In addition toraces in both forward and reverse using thisWorld of Warcraftvehicle, drivers can take Shipping and Handling jobs from Nanny Tallulah, either directly, or remotely from the vehicle using the Personal Caddy Caller. A great source of Valorstones, Crests, and Resonance crystal – with even more available during the hourly group Surge Pricing world events – the D.R.I.V.E. system is an alternate source for both cosmetic and gearing currencies.
