Roman Reigns has been revealed asWWE 2K25’s cover star. Superstars who grace the cover of the WWE 2K games are often the center of attention in regard to the Showcase mode. WithWWE 2K25’s unveiling, it’s safe to say that the Tribal Chief will have a big role to play in this year’s entry. Reigns has been a huge focal point of WWE programming, and it feels fitting to have him be at the forefront.
Much speculation came with the first teases of the game. When the WWE Universe got itsfirst look atWWE 2K25, some of the first Superstars to be revealed were Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Damien Priest, and Liv Morgan. With Cody having beenWWE 2K24’s cover star, some assumed that CM Punk could be taking the reins this year. However, a previous teaser involving Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns had fans believing it had something to do with the game.
During a big segment on theJanuary 27 episode of WWE Raw, Paul Heyman officially revealed Roman Reigns as the cover star forWWE 2K25. With fireworks and a big poster showing Roman Reigns preparing for a Superman Punch rolling down from the rafters, fans were quick to chant and acknowledge WWE’s Tribal Chief. As Superstar Drew McIntyre came to interrupt that segment, the WWE Universe was left speculating what Roman Reigns being the poster boy for the game could lead to.
Roman Reigns as WWE 2K25’s Cover Star Could Be Interesting
Some fans say thatWWE 2K25should cover Roman Reigns' historic title reign. However, some gamers are worried that it could limit the number of new characters to be included in the game. Not to mention, some Superstars who’ve left the company since then would obviously be excluded from the game. A few are hoping that the game could highlight the Bloodline as a whole. This would be a great way to introduce fans to the legacy of Reigns' family.
Surprisingly, with Roman Reigns' announcement as the official cover star, it does make one recent announcement an outlier. Previously, The Undertaker was announced as the cover for theDeadman Edition ofWWE 2K25. And while it’s still possible that this version could feature different exclusive content, fans are wondering why The Undertaker has an alternate edition. Some fans have suggested that The Rock should have his own bundle as it ties in better with the Bloodline theme. Still, the reception for the main cover star and the alternate version has the WWE Universe excited for the eventual release ofWWE 2K25.
