Summary

WWE 2K25is bringing back Showcase mode, but this time around, there will be some significant changes that should make the experience a lot better for players. Showcase has been a staple in theWWE 2Kgames for years, and so it’s no surprise that it’s returning forWWE 2K25. The concept behind it is a simple one. Showcase selects a wrestler, group, time period, or event and gives players the chance to relive some of the most iconic events that are tied to them.

Previous Showcase modes have highlighted superstars like John Cena and Rey Mysterio, butWWE 2K25is focusing on The Bloodline. The Bloodline storyline and stable have dominated WWE television since Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2020, and so it makes sense for the stable to be featured inWWE 2K25’s Showcase mode.

As reported by God is a Geek,WWE 2K25’s take on Showcase is a promising one. It’s been confirmed thatWWE 2K25is doing away with the divisive “Slingshot” feature that has been used in previous Showcase modes. For the uninitiated, Slingshot tech made it soWWE 2KShowcase gameplay would transition to live-action footage of the match playing out. This would force players to play in a specific way to trigger the scene, and while seeing the historical footage can be neat, its novelty wore off quickly for many fans.WWE 2K25will instead keep the focus on actually playing the matches instead of watching them. But that’s not the only improvement coming toWWE 2K25’s Showcase mode.

WWE 2K25 Showcase Mode is Getting Improvements

In the interest of keeping players in the driver’s seat forWWE 2K25Showcase mode matches, there will be multiple outcomes for each bout. For example, players can finish Showcase matches the same way that they finished in real life, or players can shake things up by letting the real-life losers win their matches instead. As far asWWE 2KShowcase modesgo, it certainly sounds likeWWE 2K25is taking a massive step in the right direction.

These improvements seem to apply toWWE 2K25across the board. It’s also been confirmed thatWWE 2K25MyGM mode is getting major upgrades, with online multiplayer support, cross-brand PLEs, and more. Players can also look forward to a massive roster of over 300 wrestlers, cutscenes back in Universe mode, new match types, the return of intergender wrestling, and much more. On paper,WWE 2K25sounds like the most fully-featuredWWE 2Kgame to date, but time will tell if it sticks the landing.
