In terms of critical acclaim,Death’s Doorcan be characterized as the biggest loss for the service, with its 88 average rating and 99% recommendation rate on OpenCritic making itone of the highest-rated Xbox Game Pass gamescurrently available.

When it comes to Xbox Game Pass departures, Microsoft never communicates their exact removal times in advance. However, save for a few exceptions, most titles leave the XGP content catalog around the end of the day of their scheduled date of departure.Xbox Game Pass userson the West Coast therefore have around 12 more hours to try these soon-to-be-departing titles as of this writing. That’s enough time to feasibly beat any one of them, except forDarkest DungeonandDeath’s Door.
Xbox Game Pass Content Catalog Has Finally Returned to Growth
The content catalog of Microsoft’s subscription service has been consistently shrinking since summer 2024. Between August and December 2024, monthly removals from Xbox Game Pass have always outnumbered new game additions. This negative trend is now finally at its end, as today’s departures bring the total number of monthly removals to 12. In contrast,Xbox Game Pass has added 13 new titles over the course of January 2025. Most of them were announced in advance, with the only surprise beingNinja Gaiden 2 Black, which was shadow-dropped on January 23, as soon as it was announced at the Xbox Developer Direct 2025.
The XGP library will next expand on February 4, when it’s scheduled to receiveFar Cry New Dawn. That’s also the day when Microsoft is expected to announce the rest of the first wave of February 2025 Xbox Game Pass releases. Aside fromFar Cry New Dawn, the subscription service already has one other confirmed game for next month, Obsidian’sAvowed, which is slated to arrive on February 18.
