Microsoft has revealed the second wave of theXbox Game Passreleases for January 2025. The newly confirmed roster includes eight newXbox Game Passtitles, as well as five additions to the Standard-tier library.

Since summer 2024,Xbox Game Pass has consistently removed more titles than it addedevery single month. The last month that was a net positive for the service was July 2024, when the platform added 12 games while removing nine others.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

This unenviable streak is now finally nearing its end, with Microsoft’s newly shared January 2025 Wave 2 lineup including eight new titles, which will push its monthly tally to 12 releases—matching this month’s removals. Other thanLonely Mountains: Snow Riders, whichjust reached Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on January 21, the subscription service will soon receiveGigantic: Rampage Edition,Starbound,Eternal Strands,Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap,Shady Part of Me,Sniper Elite: Resistance, andCitizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, in that order.

Xbox Game Pass Standard Getting 5 New Titles in the Second Half of January 2025

The newly announced roster also includes five existing offerings that will soon reach the Xbox Game Pass Standard library:Flock,Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess,Magical Delicacy,Tchia, andThe Case of the Golden Idol. All five wereoriginally added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in July 2024, and are now scheduled to expand to the budget tier of the service on January 22.

As per usual, the latest wave of XGP releases also saw Microsoft confirm which titles will be leaving its service next. There were no surprises on this front, with the announcement merely reiterating what a recent update to the Xbox app already revealed:Xbox Game Pass is losing six titles on January 31. These soon-to-be-departing games are:Anuchard,Broforce,Darkest Dungeon,Death’s Door,Maquette, andSerious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. The first wave of the Xbox Game Pass February 2024 lineup is expected to be revealed early next month, most likely on February 4, given Microsoft’s tendency to announce new additions to its service on Tuesdays. In the meantime, the next Xbox Developer Direct is likely to yield some more Xbox Game Pass-related news on January 23.
