Astra Yao’s debut toZenless Zone Zero’s playable roster is expected to provide a major shake-up to the game’s meta. Astra Yao will launch as an Ether Support Agent withinZenless Zone Zero, with her kit heavily focused around utility and buffing her allies' damage. Her kit reveal also confirmed Astra Yao can trigger her Additional Ability with either Anomaly or Attack characters, making her a flexible choice for several different team compositions. Now, Astra Yao’s W-Engine looks to provide Energy boosts and encourage fast-swapping.
Zenless Zone Zero officially revealed the signature W-Engine for upcoming Version 1.5 character Astra Yao through its official social media accounts. Astra Yao’s Signature W-Engine will boast an impressive 713 base ATK when fully leveled to Level 60, with its main substat granting 30% ATK.Her W-Engine’s unique effect, “Untold Beauty,” provides the equipper with 5 Energy after using a Quick Assist, Chain Attack, Defensive Assist, or Evasive Assist. If the user consumes 25 or more Energy, it also buffs team-wide damage by 10%, with the ability able to stack up to two times.

Astra Yao’s signature Light Cone looks to provide a powerful buff for both “quick-swap” Support characters and those reliant on their ultimate. Characters like Soukaku andLucy will likely see significant benefitsfrom the W-Engine, with both characters typically not wanting to stay out for long. Astra Yao will see a unique benefit from her W-Engine’s unique ability, with the character staying on the battlefield and providing bonus effects when using assist moves. Astra Yao and her signature W-Engine will release with the Version 1.5 update, launching later this week on January 22.
Zenless Zone Zero’s Version 1.5 update looks to have plenty of options for players looking to spend their hard-earned Polychromes. Alongside Astra Yao and her W-Engine,Zenless Zone Zerowill alsointroduce Evelyn as a new Fire Attack characterduring the update’s second half. The update will also feature two new rerun banners for the first time in the urban action RPG’s history, with Ellen and Qingyi set to return to the limited banner. Astra Yao will look to provide a powerful new Support option following her release, between her unique abilities and her W-Engine.
