With the recent launch of Version 1.5,Zenless Zone Zeroreleased Astra Yao, one of the most anticipated characters since the game’s early days. It’s been mere days since her debut, but Astra Yao has been well-received by fans. However,Zenless Zone Zerois already teasing what’s coming in the next update, starting with two new playable Agents. While one of them has long been rumored to become playable, the other may come as a surprise to players.
Through a series of social media posts,Zenless Zone Zerohas drip-marketed Pulchra and Silver Soldier Anby for Version 1.6. According to developers, Pulchra is a Physical Stun unit from the Sons of Calydon, the same faction as Burnice and Lighter. Players first met Pulchra in Version 1.2, when she got in a fight against Burnice. She is a female Thiren character with feline traits and impressive shooting abilities. Pulchra was previously teased inearlierZenless Zone Zeroleaksthat suggested she would have a key role in a later storyline. Meanwhile, Silver Soldier Anby is an Electric Attack unit from an unknown faction. Considering that Anby Demara is already an A-Rank unit from the Cunning Hares, it is unclear why she now possesses a new title and attribute. In Silver Soldier Anby’s official introduction, her sister, Nicole Demara, states that seeing Anby in this new suit brings back memories, implying that Anby might have been part of a different faction in the past.
Zenless Zone Zero Reveals New Playable Characters for Version 1.6
AlthoughZenless Zone Zerohas not confirmed Pulchra and Silver Soldier Anby’s rarities, fans have pointed out how Pulchra could be an A-Rank given how her drip marketing illustration isn’t animated. This is because Seth Lowell, another A-Rank unit, was also promoted with a stiff illustration, unlike S-Rank characters whose drip marketing drawings were animated. In a similar manner, Silver Soldier Anby’s illustration happens to be animated, which could mean she is an S-Rank character.
While Pulchra was first introduced as an enemy NPC from The Vanquishers, HoYoverse has confirmed that Pulchra is now a member of the Sons of Calydon. It seems she will bejoining an ally faction inZenless Zone Zerosometime during Version 1.6, which could also mean that the Sons of Calydon will be receiving more content in future updates. On the other hand, by giving Anby an alternate S-Rank form, HoYoverse may be trying out a formula already seen inHonkai: Star Railwith characters like Dan Heng and Fugue, who have both 4-Star and 5-Star versions. If this is the case,Zenless Zone Zerocould see more A-Rank units getting S-Rank forms.
With the announcement of Pulchra and Silver Soldier Anby,Zenless Zone Zeroplayers might want to stock up on Polychromes to pull for the new characters. Fortunately for fans,Zenless Zone ZeroVersion 1.5 has plenty of rewardsbefore the update ends around mid-March.
